Agoralumiere always tries to initiate a panel discussion on its Africa Day at the Cannes Film Festival on prominent subjects and with concrete outcomes. The theme of this year's panel is in line with the Creative Africa Initiative launched at UNCTAD XII in Accra last month, as another tool for poverty reduction in Africa. In partnership with Silhouette Films and hosted by The Hollywood Reporter, Agoralumiere International will hold a panel with industry professionals to discuss the broader aspects and impact of digital technology on cinema distribution. Digital models are empowering independent filmmakers and producers to access targeted audiences and increase revenue potential of film projects through, VoD, IPTV and PPV.

AFRICAN VISION AWARDS CEREMONY

Agoralumiere celebrates every year personnalities from Africa and its Diaspora who contribute through their work to the industries development and the preservation and promotion of the African heritage.

The Agoralumiere's African VISION AWARD Ceremony includes new initiatives which support the African Film industry.

The Agoralumiere African Vision Award 2008 for LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT will be presented by Mr Afolabi ADESANYA, President of the Nigerian Film Corporation, and Member of the Agoralumiere International Digital Cinema Group.

SYNOPSIS
COUNT BASIE’S Band members reminisce about the music, the man and their times in the Band.
COUNT BASIE musicians and friends unite around the Jazz historian Ira Gitlar who chairs the animated conversation in front of Gary Keys' camera.

"FROM THE BOXING RING TO THE RED CARPET OF THE CANNES FESTIVAL”

is a challenging operation initiated by Mr Nicolas DRUZ, Head of Europe-Asie Magazine, and stakeholder in LANVIN three weeks before the Festival. This special event which has been given full support by the Federation Française de Boxe, RFI, L’OREAL and DESSANGE will be hosted by Agoralumiere International at the Cannes Festival on the 22 April and will aim at offering a special day to this young French and European Boxing Champion. Sarah OURAHMOUNE, comes from the suburb area of Paris and whose family is of Algerian origin.
